Seth Anderson, President of Oregon’s American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter, is in Washington D.C. this week attending Grassroots, a leadership conference for AIA Chapter and State Council leaders from around the country.
More than 500 AIA members are meeting with their respective states’ congressional leaders and staffs. Oregon’s group, which includes members from Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Bend, met with Oregon’s Senators and Representatives. They presented positions on and advocated for modifications to tax regulations allowing energy efficiency improvements to qualify for tax credits as well as the need for design best practices in creating safe schools.

Oregon’s group posted outside Senator Ron Wyden’s office for a photo. In attendance are (right to left) Rod Ashley, Robert Hoffman, John Flynn, Rex Prater, Kaley Fought, and Seth Anderson.
