Last week, Ascent Architecture and Interiors dropped in on the 6th Street Apartments Remodel project in Redmond to check out the improvements made so far. Mission Building was busy on the lift, cutting the second-floor pilasters to accommodate the new, wide roof beams which will better support the roof.
We designed the remodel of the 4,754 square foot, two-story building to include a new ground-floor garage, a commercial tenant space, and apartments. The unoccupied second floor was repurposed into two spacious apartments, each with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-concept kitchen, dining room, and living room area. Completion is scheduled for mid-Spring 2019.
In the end, the building will feature a mix of modern and contemporary materials, like brick veneer and reclaimed wood, adding a sleek and trendy aesthetic to Redmond’s up-and-coming central business district, while honoring the historic character of the building.
