  • Is an excellent communicator, eager to mentor design professionals but also ready to learn from all members of the team.
  • Is highly organized, responsive, and flexible.
  • Is a well-rounded architect with an excellent understanding of codes and how buildings get put together.
  • Is comfortable with technology and seeks to improve internal processes.

Who We Are

Ascent Architecture & Interiors is a progressive firm that offers our clients exceptional service and thoughtful design, with the philosophy that architecture can make a positive difference for our clients and in the community. We believe in supporting our team members’ professional growth, promoting work-life balance, and working together by contributing our individual talents.

But we think our team members say it best:

Ascent's Team 2016“I enjoy working at Ascent because of the positive, supportive work environment and the value placed on every team member’s input. It’s also important to me to work for a company that encourages team members to give back to the local community, whether that be work days with Habitat for Humanity or attending a charitable event together.”—Lynn Baker, NCIDQ Certificate No. 29584, Interior Designer

“Since starting with Ascent, I feel very fortunate to have landed with a company that is collaborative, empowering, and progressive in its approach to team dynamics. In addition, my team members are experienced, highly skilled, and creative, as well as kind and supportive. As a result, I feel confident that my position here will help me to grow professionally and ultimately allow me to contribute to the betterment of human environments.”—Tia Hanson, Allied ASID, Design Professional

“Why did I decide to become part of the Ascent team? I wanted to work somewhere I would be valued for my talents; given opportunities to provide input on design and firm operations; would collaborate with competent, honest people; and be given opportunities for work-life balance.  Ascent has filled this need. We are a collective of hardworking, fun-loving individuals. We razz each other some, we problem-solve together, we work side by side, we talk over lunch, we take mind-clearing walks together, we bounce ideas off each other, we celebrate our successes, commiserate on our frustrations…we share life.”—Krista Appleby, AIA, NCARB, Sr. Project Architect
