The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care
Rio Grande Valley, Texas

Project Description
Ascent Architecture & Interiors provided architecture and interior design services for The Gardens at Brook Ridge, which is located in the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas. The new two-story, 89,000-square-foot building contains 65 assisted-living resident rooms and 34 memory-care beds with a construction budget of $11.5 million. It features community amenities, such as a salon, theater and restaurant, as well as site improvements, including on-site parking, resident courtyards and gardening beds. Additionally, the building houses staff administration spaces and support rooms. Nursing stations are located throughout the building, in addition to a centralized medication room, nursing and consultation offices, onsite laundry and soiled- and clean-linen rooms. The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) required the facility to be constructed as a Health Care Occupancy as an extra measure of life safety in the event of an emergency. Ascent Architecture ensured compliance with licensing requirements.
