Habitat Greenwood Townhomes
Bend, Oregon

completed 2017
1,337 – 1,463 sq ft per unit
Project Description
Bend Area Habitat for Humanity approached Ascent Architecture & Interiors to assist with its first townhouse development due to our previous experience with this housing type. As affordable, single-family lots in Bend become more scarce, Habitat is looking for alternate housing models that still supported its mission of assisting people with affordable home ownership. We worked with Habitat to develop plans that meet the organization’s standard three-bedroom housing model and offer cost effective construction. We also assisted them through the permitting process. The result is this three-unit townhouse development near Pilot Butte.
Kitchen
A functional kitchen space flows into the dining and living room area.

Open Floor Plan
A view of the first floor, featuring the kitchen, laundry and living areas.

Site Plan
The site presented unique challenges, including limited street access, city imposed minimum lot dimensions, and maximum lot coverage. Additionally, the Habitat program included a desire to provide homeowners with usable yard space.

Unit Variation
Ascent varied the exterior elevations and provided multiple paint color palettes to allow the homeowners to customize their unit.
