The Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) needed an expanded home for its thrift store, which provides vital fundraising for the non-profit. The organization purchased a 23,600-square-foot retail building on 3rd Street in southeast Bend. The building required extensive remodeling to fit the client’s needs, meet current codes, and update the interiors.

Exterior View

This remodel to an existing commercial building required creative design solutions to meet the client’s needs. We worked to improve energy efficiency of the building and create a positive retail experience for customers and optimal line of sight throughout the store for employees.

Drop-Off Area

The client required drop-off area for donations. This added canopy offers a weather-protected area for that purpose.

Retail Interior

Improved, energy efficient lighting and the removal of existing walls opens the space and gives it a retail feel. The mezzanine allows for ample storage.
