Shinsei Sushi
Bend, Oregon

completed 2018
2,345 sq ft
Project Description:
Shinsei Sushi hired Ascent Architecture & Interiors to help remodel their space and convert an existing banquet room into a new bar and pick-up counter. The sushi restaurant now has an efficient floor plan, a refinished sushi counter, new bussing station, and new equipment and finishes.
Cozy Colors
We selected sophisticated “latte colors” for the new space because the shades of brown, black, and white helped to achieve the cozy atmosphere our client desired. Soft, warm lighting from hanging pendants and wall sconces also emphasize the comfortable, cafe-like aesthetic.

Intimate Space
Our design called for new casework and walls to break up the lofty space and add contrast. We were also able to incorporate the existing suspended wooden drop-down panels above the sushi counter because they helped create the illusion of lower ceilings. The new walls, in combination with the drop-down panels, add an intimate element to the space and contribute to our coffeeshop theme.
